PETS/COMPANIONS

Many people desire a horse simply as a pet. Or they have a horse that is simply too old to be useable as a driving or riding horse and let the animal live out it's days in peace as a beloved companion to either other horses or humans.

Miniature horses are a good example of a horse that cannot be ridden but can be the ideal pet.

Horses that are pets need the same amount of care as a horse that is in work or being ridden.
They need water, shelter and pasture or hay. They need their hooves trimmed, teeth floated and they need to have shots and worming done on a regular basis.
